Missions
To our neighbors and to the nations
Missions begins with the glory of God.
At Westminster, missions begins with the glory of God. We believe the Lord has called His church to make His character known by faithfully proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to our neighbors and to the nations. Our prayer is that, by the work of the Holy Spirit, people who do not yet know Christ will come to trust Him as Lord and Savior, and then grow as faithful disciples and witnesses within Scripture-centered local churches that share the same zeal for reaching others.
For us, missions is any work directed beyond our own congregation to fulfill the Great Commission through evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and the training of Christian leaders, while caring for the whole person, both spiritually and physically. We partner with missionaries and sending agencies here in Southwest Florida, across the United States, and around the world, and we direct our resources through four focus areas.
How we serve
Four focus areas.
Church Planting
Healthy local churches are God’s primary means for reaching communities with the gospel. We support the planting of new, Reformed, Word-based congregations where believers can worship, grow in grace, and send out others in turn.
Campus Ministry
College and university students are at a formative crossroads, and many will carry what they learn into every corner of the world. We support ministries that bring the gospel to students and disciple them to follow Christ for a lifetime.
Local Mercy Ministry
Following Jesus’ compassion, we seek to meet physical needs in our own community as a tangible expression of His love. Through local mercy ministries, we care for those who are hurting while pointing them to the hope found in Christ.
Christian Education
Christ-centered education shapes hearts and minds for a lifetime of faithful service. We support schools that teach students to see all of life in light of God’s Word, and we partner with those who train and equip Christian teachers for that calling, so that the next generation might know the Lord and make Him known.
Serving alongside a church plant
St. George, Utah mission trip
Westminster’s team will partner with All Saints Reformed Church, a PCA church plant we support, for a week of evangelism, worship, and life together.
The trip includes street evangelism, preparation with All Saints’ leaders, and a firsthand look at church planting.
